How does it work?
- 1Fill in the fields you need: first and last name, company, job title, phone, mobile, e-mail, website, street address, city, postal code and country.
- 2Keep entries short and leave out fields you do not need. The less text, the simpler and easier to scan the code will be.
- 3Adjust colours, size, margin, module style and error correction. If you add a centre logo, correction rises to H and the code gets denser.
- 4Download the code as PNG, SVG or PDF, or copy the image, and add it to your card, badge or signature.
- 5Scan it with a phone and check that the contact opens with every field correct before printing in quantity.
What is vCard QR Code Generator?
A vCard is a standard text format for contact details (files with the .vcf extension). This tool writes a vCard 3.0 record with the fields you fill in and places it inside a QR code. When a phone scans it, the camera or scanner app offers to add the person to the address book, with name, numbers, e-mail, website and address already filled in.
A vCard holds far more text than a web link, so the QR code becomes larger and denser, with smaller modules. Shorter fields, fewer optional details and a moderate error-correction level keep it readable. Very dense codes need more printing space and a sharper print.
How the phone reacts depends on the scanner. iPhones and many Android phones offer to create a contact directly, while some scanner apps only display the raw text. Accented and non-Latin characters usually work with modern phones, but always test with a real device.

Why is my vCard QR code so dense and hard to scan?
A vCard carries a lot of text. Remove fields you do not need, shorten the company and address lines, and print the code larger. Avoid a centre logo unless it is necessary, since it forces the highest correction level and makes the code denser.
What happens when someone scans it?
Most modern phones offer to create a new contact, prefilled with your details. The exact wording and steps depend on the phone and the scanner app, so test it on both iPhone and Android if you can.
Can I change my phone number in a printed code?
No. The data is stored inside the code, and it is static, so you need to generate and print a new one. That is why it is worth checking every field before printing a batch of cards.
Which minimum size works for a business card?
Aim for at least 2.5 to 3 cm wide and a good-quality print. If the code is dense, go bigger or reduce fields. Always test-scan a printed proof, not just the screen.
Does the code include a photo or logo of the contact?
No. The vCard contains text fields only. You can place a logo in the middle of the QR code for branding, but that is an image on the code, not part of the contact card.
