What is Email QR Code?

This code stores a mailto: link, the standard way to describe an email in a URL (RFC 6068). It looks like mailto:hello@example.com?subject=Question&body=Hello. Special characters and line breaks in the subject and body are percent-encoded automatically, so accents, spaces and new lines survive the trip.

When someone scans it, the phone opens its default mail app with a new draft. Nothing is sent by itself: the person can edit the text and must press send. Because the address and text are stored in the code, a longer body makes a denser pattern, so keep the message short.

When should you use it?

• Letting customers report a problem to a support address straight from a product label or manual.
• Adding a quick feedback or complaint route to a restaurant table card or a shop counter.
• Collecting event RSVPs or booking requests with the subject already set, such as RSVP Spring Gala.
• Printing a job-application or press contact on a business card or a poster.
• Reporting faults on public equipment with a pre-written subject that includes the asset name.

Privacy

This tool runs in your browser. What you type, paste or open is processed on your device by JavaScript and is not sent to our servers, stored or shared. Your data stays on your device.

The address, subject and message are encoded in your browser and never reach a server. Anyone can read them by scanning the code, and address harvesters can too, so use a role address such as info@ rather than a private one.
