What is QR Code Generator?

A QR code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode that stores data as a pattern of dark and light squares called modules, defined by the ISO/IEC 18004 standard. Any smartphone camera can read it. Capacity depends on the version and the correction level. At level L a QR code can hold up to 7,089 digits, 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 2,953 bytes, but every extra character makes the pattern denser and harder to read at small sizes. For everyday use, keep the content short. If you need a special format such as a Wi-Fi login, a contact card or a pre-filled message, use the dedicated tool, which builds the correct payload for you.

Which error-correction level should you choose?

Error correction lets a scanner recover the data when part of the code is dirty, scratched or covered. Level L restores about 7% of the codewords, M about 15%, Q about 25% and H about 30%. Higher levels make the pattern denser.
