How does it work?

  1. 1Upload your PDF to a service you control (Google Drive, Dropbox, your website) and set it so anyone with the link can view it.
  2. 2Copy that public link and paste it into the input field. Links without https:// are completed for you.
  3. 3Adjust colours, size, margin, module style and error correction, and add a logo if wanted.
  4. 4Scan the preview with a phone to confirm the PDF opens, then download PNG, SVG or PDF.

What is PDF to QR Code?

A PDF cannot be stored inside a QR code: even a small file is far larger than the few kilobytes a code can hold. What a PDF QR code really contains is the web address of the file. Scanning it opens the PDF in the phone browser or its built-in viewer.

This tool never receives your document, so the file must already be reachable online. The link has to be public: a link that asks visitors to sign in will show them an error page instead of your PDF.

When should you use it?

  • Linking a printed flyer or brochure to the full catalogue or price list.
  • Putting a user manual or safety sheet on a machine, appliance or product box.
  • Sharing a conference programme, timetable or lecture handout on a poster or slide.
  • Adding a downloadable CV, portfolio or menu to a business card or shop window.

How to get a public link to your PDF

Google Drive: upload the file, open Share, change General access to Anyone with the link (Viewer) and copy the link. Dropbox: choose Share, create a link that anyone can view and copy it. On your own website, upload the file and use its direct address, which usually ends in .pdf.

This tool runs in your browser. What you type, paste or open is processed on your device by JavaScript and is not sent to our servers, stored or shared. Your data stays on your device.

Only the link is turned into a QR code, in your browser. The PDF itself is never uploaded or stored by this tool. Anyone with the link can open the file, so do not use it for confidential documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I upload my PDF here?

No. The tool does not host files, because everything runs in your browser. Put the PDF online first with a storage service or your own website, then paste its public link.

The QR code scans but shows an error. Why?

Most often the link is private. Open it in a private browser window while signed out: if you cannot see the PDF there, neither can your visitors. Change the sharing setting to anyone with the link.

Does the PDF size matter?

It does not affect the code, but visitors will download the file on mobile data. A light file of a few megabytes opens faster and is friendlier to people with a weak connection.
